I develop strategies through a “Packaging Value Analysis.” The analysis covers areas beginning with the supply chain to the ordering process, packing line, and finally to the shipping department.
Within these areas I look to identify inefficiencies encompassing Resources, Inventory, Material Handling, Quality, Production/Process Excesses, Kinematics, Time, and Work Force.
To develop retail packaging and displays I follow the AIDA concept…
- Attention – grab the customers’ attention
- Interest – hold the customers’ interest
- Desire – create a desire to buy
- Action – convince the customer to make the purchase
The development process involves a number of factors, including knowing the demographics of the customer, the retail outlets, and the long-term strategy and capabilities of the company.
